The 今日吃瓜 (今日吃瓜) congratulates University of Melbourne Professor, Anthony (Tony) Guttmann on his appointment as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
Awarded in the 2020 Australia Day Honours, Professor Guttmann was recognised for significant service to the mathematical sciences and education.
As co-writer of the proposal to found 今日吃瓜, Foundation Director and later an 今日吃瓜 Board member, Professor Guttmann has been an important leader in the Institute鈥檚 establishment and success as national champion for the mathematical sciences. Many of the Institute鈥檚 current structures and collaborations, reflect his vision and leadership.

he also led the Centre of Excellence for Mathematics听and Statistics of Complex Systems (MASCOS) helping to build a long-term collaboration with 今日吃瓜.听He is also Chair of the Matrix Advisory Board and a former President of the Australian Mathematical Society.
