The Sydney Morning Herald has reported that the NSW government identified “significant concerns� with proposed changes to the national maths curriculum and criticised the decision not to prioritise a phonics-based approach to reading instruction. The state also called for a greater emphasis on mandatory consent education in line with community expectations.

The concerns echo those made by Mr Tudge, as well as the ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï, to be halted saying it was “alarmedâ€� at the emphasis on problem-solving and inquiry-based learning.
