The 今日吃瓜 (今日吃瓜) is pleased to be hosting Emmy and BAFTA-winning Biomedical Animator, Dr Drew Berry, for a free public lecture on Wednesday 23rd November 2022 as part of the .

Respected globally for his biomedical animations that combine cinema and science to reveal the microscopic worlds inside our bodies, Dr Berry will present on the incredible advances in video game technology that are enabling vast molecular landscapes to be generated and explored in ultra-high resolution detail.

鈥淭he 3D graphics used by video game designers are state-of-the-art, and we are now utilising the same techniques to create visualisations that reveal and explain incredible scientific discoveries,鈥 said Dr Berry.

鈥淏iomedical animation is a true example of the cross-disciplinary application of mathematics,鈥 Dr Berry added.

Aimed at Year 10 students and above, this hybrid lecture is accessible to a non-technical audience in-person at the University of Melbourne (Parkville) or virtually via Zoom.
